Brunch after church

This has been another busy month in Mae's life!  In the last month she has grown her first tooth, mastered sitting up, and started crawling!  She also started swimming lessons, took her first trip to the beach, and graduated from her car seat to grocery store carts and restaurant high chairs (hooray!!).  She is extremely social and loves little kids and other babies.  She laughs and squeals all the time and FINALLY sleeps through the night and takes great naps!  It's so fun watching her learn and grow and sometimes just be silly.

I took this video on my phone last night when Mae had gotten herself half way into the dog bed and couldn't get out.  I know some of you will be grossed out that I let her lay in the dog bed like that, but she was having so much fun!  (sorry about the poor quality).  Make sure to turn up the volume ;)

Leavin' on a jet plane

Mae is 6 months old now!  She has had lots of new experiences in the past month!
She now eats carrots, peas, pears, peaches, apple sauce, green beans, and avocado!  The only thing she hasn't liked so far was bananas, but we are gonna try again soon.  :)

She took her first trip to the Jackson Zoo with her grandparents, and had a blast!  :)

A few weekends ago we spent the afternoon hanging out at the Zippity Doo Dah weekend in Fondren with our friends.  Mae and Caroline enjoyed the parade and getting to stay up late!  :)

Most recently Mae took her first airplane trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa Trent in Texas.  She was living large on Grandpa's company plane.  :)  (IT WAS AWESOME!!)

We are still in TX now.  Mae is having fun rolling around the house in her new scooter.  We are visiting the Alamo tomorrow with Uncle Bob and Aunt Marianne and Patrick!

I think she's enjoying her visit, but she definitely misses her Daddy.

5 Months!

Wow!  Lots has happened in Mae's life in the past month!  It's so crazy how fast she is growing!!  She rolled over for the first time on Valentine's Day.  Of course she did it as soon as I left the room, so I didn't see.

This is how I found her!  She is rolling all the time now, and even rolled over and slept on her tummy for a little while last night!  Maybe now she will start growing hair on the back of her head!!!

She is really loving her cereal!  She says "mmmm" every time she takes a bite!  It's pretty funny.  We may start veggies in the next few weeks....

We traveled to Hattiesburg last weekend and Mae got Baptized at our old church!  It went really well.  She was good, and we got to see lots of friends!  She wore a Christening gown that has been used in my family for a long time.  She was the 21st child to wear it!  I was 11th, my mom was 4th.  :)

I finally got all of Mae's furniture in her room.  It isn't set up how I want it yet, but it's getting there.  Next time I will post some before and after pictures.  This was the first time she woke up in her new bed!  :)  I think she likes all the space.

I will end with some more cute pictures from this past month.

4 Months!

Mae is growing so fast!  Recently she has been trying so hard to roll over!  Austin and I watched her for so long the other day thinking it was about to happen.  I'm sure it will be pretty soon!

She had her four month check up with Dr. Joe last week and is doing great!  She weighed in at 14.5 lbs and is 26" long.  She had to get 3 more shots, but it only seemed to bother her for a few minutes.  He also thought she was about to roll over and said we should give her more "tummy time" during the day.  She didn't like it at first, but she's getting there....
Mae's biggest change this month is that she has started eating cereal!  The first few times she just kept spitting out the same bite over and over, but now she's starting to get the hang of it.
She still loves bath time, and even gets to hold the sprayer by herself sometimes :)
She attended her very first birthday party and had a blast with all of her friends.  She can't wait until she can get down and jump in the bouncy house with them!!

Home at Last!

Well, this blogging thing hasn't worked out so well thus far. Mostly because we've been pretty much homeless and without our computer since mid-October. BUT...we finally have a place to call home and have the internet up and running! So now I don't have any excuses and plan on posting much more often!
For those who don't know, we were living with our BESTEST friends in Brandon while we waited for our house in Hattiesburg to sell. The house hasn't actually sold, but we did get some renters for the next 18 months, which will allow us to rent a house in Jackson for now. Yay!
Mae is growing SO fast, and her schedule is getting more and more regular - even though she still isn't sleeping through the night! UGH! I just keeping hoping that will happen soon!
She is doing lots of "talking" and smiling and loves looking at the t.v. and dogs and mirrors (of course). She is learning how to reach for things, and wants to put everything in her mouth, but hasn't yet mastered grabbing. :)
I'm pretty sure she discovered her feet yesterday because she was staring at them and leaning towards them while she was sitting in my lap. It's so much fun to watch her learn and grow and change!
She had a great first Christmas, even though she had no idea it even happened. ;) She got a high chair, and a jumparoo, and lots of cute clothes and fun toys. I can't wait for her to be able to open presents and believe in Santa! Next year she will get to spend Christmas in Texas with Grandma and Grandpa, and after that we will establish our very own Christmas morning traditions!
Here are some pictures from the last month or so.
